WHERE DO I RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE?
When the time comes to return your lease, you’ll drop it off at the same local Chevrolet dealer where you originally signed your lease.
If you’ve moved during the time of your lease term, contact us—or your new nearest Chevy dealership—to discuss other drop-off options.
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE?
Yes, once you or our Chevy technicians have determined that your vehicle is fit for return, you can schedule a return appointment with us. You’ll want to schedule your appointment for as close to your maturity date as possible.
WILL THERE BE EXTRA CHARGES WHEN I RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE?
There are no additional charges guaranteed with your lease return. However, there are several that may apply depending on the situation. Any of the following reasons or circumstances could result in extra charges upon your lease return:
- Mileage limit exceeded
- Excessive or unaddressed vehicle damage
- Late/early return fees
- Past due or unpaid payments
Luckily, you’ll have plenty of chances to avoid any of these added charges well in advance
Upon dropping your vehicle off, you should also ensure that any electronic or recurring payments have been cancelled.
WHEN DO I RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE?
At the time you sign your lease, you’ll establish what’s known as a maturity date. In other words, this is the end-date for your lease and the date you’ll be responsible for returning your vehicle.
Every driver’s maturity date will differ depending on the length of their lease, whether it be 12 months or 3 years.
Around a year before your maturity date, you can get the return process started, or start weighing your other lease-end options.
CAN I RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE EARLY?
While yes, you can technically return your leased vehicle early, you should avoid doing so. If you return your lease early, you may be subject to an early termination fee.
WHAT ARE MY OTHER LEASE-END OPTIONS?
You’ll have three unique options for when your lease comes to its end, and our Chevy dealer is here to simplify them all for you.
First, you could always find a new vehicle you’d like to lease. If you’re ready to get behind the wheel of something brand new, with all the latest upgrades, you can always start a brand-new lease. Just schedule a test drive of your favorite Chevy model and you’ll be well on your way to your next lease.
Next, you’ll have the option to purchase your leased vehicle. If you love the vehicle you’ve been driving, this is a perfect option for you. Toward the end of your lease, contact our finance department to discuss a possible lease-purchase of your vehicle.
Finally, you can just stick with a lease return. This is undoubtedly the best option if you’re unsure what vehicle you’d like to purchase or lease next.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY CHEVY LEASE-END DATE?
As you get ready to return your lease, you should start keeping a closer eye on your vehicle’s condition. To start, monitor your odometer, to assure you haven’t exceeded the mileage limit you set when you originally signed the lease.
Next, examine your vehicle to help spot any possible excess wear or damage. Some things to look out for include:
- Exterior dents, dings, scratches, and other marks
- Interior stains, tears, and other damage
- Tire condition
- Glass condition (window & windshield cracks, scratches, and other damage)
By doing this, you can avoid any possible added fees or charges. To make things even easier for you, we offer a complimentary pre-return inspection that you can schedule ahead of your maturity date.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I RETURN MY CHEVY LEASE LATE?
If you return your lease late, you, once again, may be subject to additional charges. If you’re aware of a potential conflict with your maturity date or return appointment, contact us ahead of time.
