2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Review

Chevy Bolt EUV

If you’ve ever driven an electric vehicle (EV), or have even thought about buying one before, you’ve likely heard of the Chevy Bolt. This year, the Bolt has been taken to a new level, with much more to offer drivers around New Alexandria, Monroeville, and Irwin, PA. “How, exactly?” you might be asking.

Well, let us introduce you to the Bolt EUV (electric utility vehicle). With the same electric performance the Bolt EV has become known for, the Bolt EUV incorporates a brilliantly-designed interior cabin with added space, comfort, technology, and safety features placed throughout.

Below, our team at C. Harper Chevrolet East has broken down all the important details in our 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV review. Read on below and find out if you’re ready to experience this brand-new version of an electric classic!

BOLT EUV PERFORMANCE & CHARGING

BOLT EUV PERFORMANCE & CHARGING

Now, we mentioned that the Bolt has become known for its electric performance. Sooner rather than later, the Bolt EUV will be in that same discussion.

Powered by a standard electric drive unit, the Bolt EUV churns out 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque to provide a kick behind each press of the pedal. Even as you wield that much power, you can still look forward to a wildly efficient ride, with its EPA-estimated 247-mile electric driving range on a full charge.

Once that range has been reached, or you’re soon to hit it, you’ll need a way to re-power the Bolt EUV and get back on the road. Luckily, it provides seamless charging both at your home and on the go.

With an 11.5kW capable onboard charging module and a charging outlet installed right at your home, you can get the Bolt EUV back to full charge overnight. This charging unit provides roughly an EPA-estimated 37 miles of range per hour of charging.

If you find yourself on the road, however, and in need of a charge, the Bolt EUV utilizes an extensive network of over 40,000 public charging stations. Powered by DC Fast Charging capabilities, these stations can re-charge your Bolt EUV up to 95 miles in just 30 minutes.

BOLT EUV INTERIOR COMFORT & TECHNOLOGY

BOLT EUV INTERIOR COMFORT & TECHNOLOGY

The most significant difference between the standard Chevy Bolt EV and the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV comes from the inside. While both comfortably fit five, the Bolt EUV provides just a bit more space for you and your passengers.

For those who find themselves in the back seat, the Bolt EUV offers up 39.1 inches of legroom, whereas you’d find 36 inches in the Bolt EV. Both, however, still make room for all your groceries, luggage, and other cargo with over 56 cubic feet of cargo space.

The Bolt EUV also provides an impressive suite of interior tech to help you get connected and stay entertained for your longer rides. Just a small sample of that tech includes:

  • 10.2-inch HD color touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
  • Bluetooth® streaming audio
  • Voice recognition
  • In-vehicle apps

Each Bolt EUV also comes with a built-in Wi-Fi® hotspot, as well as wireless device charging. The former can help you get online no matter where you’re headed, while the latter can make sure your smartphones stay charged no matter how long you’re on the road.

BOLT EUV SAFETY & DRIVER-ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

BOLT EUV SAFETY & DRIVER-ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

One area where the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and standard EV come in completely level is their standard safety. Each is highlighted by the Chevy Safety Assist, which brings with it a slew of driver-assistance features, including:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • IntelliBeam® auto high beams

The Bolt EUV also brings along the unique Teen Driver system, which allows you to keep a close eye on your newest drivers with limited vehicle features and an in-vehicle report card.
