SILVERADO 1500 ENGINE & PERFORMANCE UPGRADES

SILVERADO 1500 ENGINE & PERFORMANCE UPGRADES

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Chevy Silverado 1500 is largely known for its incredibly powerful performance. At the end of the day, much of that revolves around the performance of its engine.

Much like the Silverado’s of years past, the 2022 Silverado 1500 comes with a variety of engine options for you to choose from. Many of them are similar to last year’s model, however, there are some notable upgrades. The engine options for this year include:

  • 2.7L Turbo Engine: 310 Horsepower – 348 lb-ft of Torque
  • Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel Engine: 277 Horsepower – 460 lb-ft of Torque
  • 5.3L V8 Engine: 355 Horsepower – 383 lb-ft of Torque
  • 6.2L Ecotec3 V8 Engine: 420 Horsepower – 460 lb-ft of Torque

Those engines also help the 2022 Chevy Silverado achieve its maximum towing capacity of a whopping 13,300 pounds to match that of last year. So, once again, you’ll have no trouble hooking up and towing larger trailers, your trusted RV, or even the family boat.

Taking performance to a new level this year comes the Silverado ZR2. An off-road pickup unlike any that have come before, this trim features a slew of unique features like Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, front/rear electronic locking differentials, and a high-approach front bumper. Along with the brilliant Terrain Mode, these features help you tackle any road or path conditions that lay ahead.

TAPPING INTO THE 2022 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500

TAPPING INTO THE 2022 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500

Many have considered the Chevy Silverado 1500 to be somewhat of a home away from home due to its wildly comfortable interior and all the capabilities it brings to the table. Whether that be its range of comfortability settings or its wealth of interior technology, the Silverado offers up countless ways for you to settle in and get connected for your journey ahead.

This year, the 2022 Silverado has brought with it a new collection of interior tech that helps you tap into nearly every part of your truck. Most notably, it’s incorporated a pair of enhanced screens so you can effortlessly monitor everything from your music and navigation to the most crucial information around your ride.

The new 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen allows you to keep an eye on everything going on inside. You can integrate your smartphone through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™, or just simply stream audio through Bluetooth® technology.

With the conveniently located 12.3-inch diagonal driver information center, all your truck’s most crucial info is displayed all within your line of sight. While barely averting your eyes from the road ahead, this high-resolution display showcases your speed, fuel level, ride summary, and so much more.

A NEW AND IMPROVED SAFETY STANDARD

A NEW AND IMPROVED SAFETY STANDARD

While the 2021 Chevy Silverado didn’t lack the safety features you needed for peace of mind behind the wheel, this year’s model took it a step further.

It starts with the Chevy Safety Assist, which is now a standard of every Silverado trim. This suite of driver assistance features includes intuitive safety systems designed to have your back on the road ahead, including:

  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • IntelliBeam® High Beam Assist

Joining forces with Chevy Safety Assist is the available Super Cruise system. This suite of driver assistance technology, a brand new feature for the Silverado, provides a new-and-improved hands-free way to simplify your drive.

Once you’ve activated the adaptive cruise control, the Super Cruise system will do the rest. It’ll detect that you’re on a compatible road and engage once you press its designated steering wheel-mounted button. Finally, you’ll see an indicator light on your driver information display as well as a green light bar on your steering wheel, meaning you can take your hands off the wheel.
